BAC
(Bead-shaped Activated Carbon)

BAC

What is "BAC"?

Kureha’s BAC (Bead-shaped Activated Carbon) is a spherical activated carbon produced through a consistent process using Kureha's unique technology, with petroleum pitch as the raw material, at a Japanese production facility that has obtained various international standards.

BAC offers various unique features in addition to its original adsorption performance.

Features of BAC

Excellent packing performance

Excellent packing density allows for excellent packing performance, providing larger adsorption capacity than a similar volume of coal-based or palm shell-based activated carbon.

Test of carbon tetrachloride adsorption capacity for various activated carbon:specific volume

High flowability

High flowability allows the activated carbon to spread throughout even complex-shaped containers.

Low dust

No binders are used in the formation process, meaning excellent strength and wear resistance, and less dust.

Low impurity

The raw material pitch has few impurities, resulting in a low level of metal impurities.

“Comparison of incineration ash” is a combustion test conducted for the purpose of internal evaluation.
When actually using BAC, It may slowly oxidize when heated over 400°C, so please handle it properly in accordance with the SDS.

  • Carbon dust quantity
  • Residue on ignition (ash)

Precise particle size distribution

Particle diameter is consistent by grade, providing stable performance.
